With seven years of successful shows at Boston Fashion Week and London Fashion Week under its belt, the Emerging Trends decided to bring their international runway show to the Big Apple for the first time this year. To be held Sept. 4 at the Holy Apostles Ballroom, this unique event allows emerging fashion designers from all over the globe to showcase their talents.
2. Glamour Street Glam Experience
If you're looking for something fun and just the right amount of frivolous, you'll want to check out the Glamour Street Glam Experience, Sept. 5-7 at Chelsea Market. For the first time, Glamour is hosting this three-day interactive "styling experience" for the public in partnership with beloved beauty and style brands like Maybelline New York, Garnier, Philosophy, Gilt and Fossil. Attendees can "find their everyday chic" at the event, thanks to fun services and opportunities — think complimentary makeup applications, a virtual color contact studio, a personalized scent experience, eyebrow styling and more. 3. Uptown Fashion Week

To be held Sept. 9-12, Uptown Fashion Week is an eclectic fashion event created to foster a diverse mix of celebrity, emerging and established fashion designers from all over the globe. Taking place in the United Palace this year, this Northern Manhattan show is sure to be full of hip, top-notch attendees and garner international editorial coverage. Bonus? This show isn't exactly a newbie — it's been around since 2003, in fact. Held this year from Sept. 5-7 at Crowne Plaza Times Square in Manhattan, Couture Fashion Week presents a series of couture shows filled with the kind of fantastical fashions dreams are made of. In addition to fashion design, the event includes world-class entertainment, parties and exhibits of luxury products and services.

If independent fashion designers are more your scene, Nolcha Fashion Week is the way to go. This award-winning event gives the floor (or catwalk, as it were) to a range of independent fashion designers ready to showcase their collections to the world. For six years, Nolcha Fashion Week has built a reputation for featuring innovative designs and incubating the hottest new talent. Big-name publications like Forbes, the New York Post and the BBC all sing the show's praises, touting it as a fantastic alternative to the Lincoln Center scene.
