The red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala, honoring late designer Charles James, was filled with celebs in some seriously jaw-dropping looks. The one that caught our eye, though, was definitely not the flashiest in the bunch.
Former Saturday Night Live star, Kristen Wiig, walked the red carpet in an all-black pants-and-skirt ensemble by Balenciaga and Alexander Wang. The halter neckline gives way to a multi-level skirt that's sparkly party in the back and super short in the front. She matched the dress with super-skinny pants and strappy stilettos.
We definitely appreciate Wiig's desire to step outside her fashion comfort zone, especially since she admitted to being a jeans and T-shirt sort of girl.
"I fantasize about being the woman who walks around the streets of New York in high heels, but that's not me. I'm usually in flats or boots," she told Lucky in 2011. "I just try to wear what I think is me."
We just wish she would have added a little more color and drama... that's what the Met Gala is known for, after all.
