Met Gala co-chair Sarah Jessica Parker paid tribute to the vintage style of late designer, Charles James, with her black-and-white (and dramatic) Oscar de la Renta gown as she walked the red carpet at the 2014 fete.
The dress is gorgeous, but we can't stop staring at her hair. The actress's updo is unlike anything we've seen before. It appears that her talented stylist gathered SJP's hair at the crown and parted and twisted it into two separate sections secured at the base of her head with a gorgeous headband made of gardenia flowers.
The sideswept bangs add to the dramatic style.
Our verdict? It's not something we'd choose for our own strands, but it fits perfectly with the Charles James aesthetic at this year's Gala. The British-born James — known as "America's First Couturier" — was known for his sexy ball gowns that played up the female figure with form-fitting bodices made of silk, organdy and velvet.
Parker was on-point with her tribute to the star, right down to her white gloves. But that hairstyle? It's definitely our favorite of the night!
