Kacey Musgraves channeled Cinderella for the Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas in this powder blue dress, which looks like something a Disney princess might pick for her senior prom from JC Penney. The 25-year-old songbird wore a Miu Miu gown with a huge train for the big show.
The pale blue is a nice color for the brunette crooner, but there are a few issues here. The ruching on the bodice of Kacey's dress is totally unnecessary in our eyes, because it makes the designer frock look cheap and ruins the silhouette. And who decided to add that big glittery belt over the top? It's all wrong for her fancy dress.
The final verdict? Unlike Cinderella, Kacey didn't lose a shoe and took the opportunity to flash her unfortunate footwear on the carpet. Whoever told her that black platforms with bejeweled heels matched this dress should be fired. A nude or silver high-heeled sandal would have been way better.
Shakira
Shakira is one hot mama but we're not wild about her emerald ACM dress. The Voice judge rocked a jewel toned Zuhair Murad gown with sequins and cutouts galore that demonstrates that just because you have the body to wear something doesn't mean you necessarily should.
Does it remind anyone else of a reptile shedding its skin or a caterpillar molting into a butterfly from its cocoon? A few skin-baring cutouts can be sexy but when they're over your abs, up your thighs, down your cleavage and arms, it's overkill. Long sleeves also seem a little off season for March in Vegas, but maybe Shak felt like she had to cover up something since the gown is so revealing.
The final verdict? As usual, the 37-year-old's hair is totally on point. Her beachy blond waves look amazing and we love how her long locks can cover any accidental nip slips in this dress. While this isn't our favorite look for her, if you're going to choose a place to go sans underwear on the red carpet, we guess Sin City is the perfect place.
