Learn the basics to sleek and smooth hair
Alli Webb, founder of Drybar, shows you how to master the basics of a blowout.
Step 1: Get a fresh start
The secret to achieving the perfect blowout is to start with freshly washed and clean hair. Any excess product or oil residue will make it harder for you to get that sleek and smooth look.
Step 2: Section your hair
Neatly divide your hair in 1-2-inch sections around your head. This will help create a better foundation when you are using a round brush to get that voluminous look.
Step 3: Seal the deal
To get a frizz-free blowout, point the nozzle of the blow dryer down the hair shaft to help seal the cuticle. Make sure each section is perfectly dry before you move on to the next.
Step 4: Break it up
Once your hair is completely dry, comb your fingers through your hair. This will help break up the lines of demarcation, creating the smooth hairstyle you were hoping for. One more look in the mirror and you'll be out the door looking fabulous!
