Demi Lovato
Somehow she managed to make it on our best dressed and our worst dressed list this week.
It's the X-Factor season finale and poor judge Demi Lovato must have run out of clothes to wear. Why else would the girl who usually picks bright prints and colors wear an all-black ensemble for the LA finale party of her hit show?
Don't get us wrong; this outfit isn't a total disaster. It's just that the black on black on black is boring for someone like Demi, who has such a whimsical, fun style. The black jeans are fine, but open-toed sandals in then middle of winter seem off-season.
Then there's the super baggy blouse she's wearing. She's swimming in material and we think adding a belt would have showed off her waistline and given her more shape. Demi topped off her outfit with a tuxedo blazer, which was also blah black.
The final verdict? There's nothing awful about this look, but we know she can do so much better! We love to see Demi in color, not dressed like an Olsen twin headed on a coffee run in NYC.
Uma Thurman
Here we have Uma Thurman, yet another victim of the head-to-toe dull color doldrums. She wore an all grey suit to the 10th Annual Tibet House Charity Auction, and while menswear is a huge trend for ladies right now, this ensemble misses the mark for a few reasons.
First of all, it's all the same drab color. The one shade of grey isn't doing it for us. Take a style tip from Blake Lively, who wore a bright red suit this summer and looked absolutely stunning. Color is your friend! If you don't want to wear an eye-popping shade for your suit, at least choose a vivid camisole to change it up.
The cut of this suit is also odd. If it was properly tailored at the waist, we could see hot mom Uma's amazing post baby body, but it looks shapeless. The pants look uncomfortably tight in the crotch and it seems like the actress is on the risk of coming down with a case of camel toe. And the bell bottom cut of the legs seem off, too. We'd prefer a skinny leg instead.
The final verdict? When trying a menswear inspired suit, remember the two C's: cut and color. And we love to see suits with heels, not flats, like Uma chose.
