In order to achieve this wide-eyed, sensual look the majority of us will arm ourselves with a great volume and length-boosting mascara, but also might consider taking our makeup game to the next level. This means experimenting with false eyelashes for special occasions or simply because we feel having gorgeous lashes will make our Sunday grocery shopping routine a little more special.

But where to begin?

False eyelashes are a dime a dozen and can be purchased at every price point. Some are made from human hair, others are synthetic, and quite a few are now crafting theirs from mink fur. To the untrained eye, it can be difficult to choose one set of lashes over another — they all start to look the same, don't they? But bridal hair and makeup artist Molly Leahy from Blushing Brides has used a variety of false lashes on clients, knows what makes a great set stand apart from the rest, and has narrowed down her favorites to six false eyelash brands that are both affordable and long-lasting.

1. House of Lashes

They may be a bit pricier than drugstore lashes, but Leahy says they're worth the extra cost because they can be reused multiple times over and still look brand new. "A slightly thicker band makes application a breeze and they have everything from very natural to extremely glam," Leahy says. "The Kardashians can be seen sporting these on Instagram a lot. These are only sold online at their website." (House of Lashes, between $10-$12).

2. Ardell Double Up

These drugstore-brand lashes are extremely affordable and perfect for people who love to experiment with lots of different types of lashes and looks. "I like the double ups because they look like they have a really beautiful mascara on them, both with the individuals and the strips," Leahy says (CVS, $6).

3. Sephora Brand Lashes

If you're looking to simplify your makeup routine, Leahy suggests Sephora Brand Lashes, which cut down on the time it takes you to apply mascara on top of false lashes so that they look more natural. "[These are] jet black so they give your eyes an added pop without having to add an extra coat of mascara," Leahy says (Sephora, $10).

4. Laura Mercier False Lashes

Minimalists or ladies who prefer not to look all glammed up will flip for Laura Mercier lashes, which Leahy says are neither too long, nor too thick. "These are the perfect lashes for blondes or anyone who wants a more natural looking lash," she says (Nordstrom, $18).

5. Kardashian Beauty Lashes

If Kim Kardashian is your beauty inspiration for all things eyelashes, you're in luck: These glam lashes get her stamp of approval. "These lashes are the same brand that Kim K. wore on her wedding day so you know they look good," Leahy says. "Plus they have a small band so you don't need to worry about lining it up a little off." (Ulta, $7).

6. MAC Lashes

It's hard to beat MAC Cosmetics when it comes to giving women a truly versatile collection of false lashes that suit the needs of both natural beauties and glamour girl divas. "They come in all shapes and sizes and have a very thin band which can make application slightly difficult but they look incredibly natural," Leahy says. "I would recommend the demi lashes for just the outer corners or to buy a pair, cut them in half and then apply one half at a time for easier application." (MAC Cosmetics, $17).
