More: H&M confirms another collab with beloved fashion designer
There's been much hype surrounding the retail giant's collaboration with Balmain — the luxury French design house under the helm of creative genius Olivier Rousteing — for months, with the ad campaigns featuring some of the world's top models (Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn).

More: What to expect from the Balmain x H&M collection
But on Thursday, Nov. 5, it finally landed in 250 stores globally, only to create a Black Friday-type madness, with the entire men's and women's wear collections becoming sold out within just a few short hours — after queues of people waited (not so patiently) for hours to get their hands on the collection, according to a video by The Huffington Post.
The website was also strained, as countless online shoppers tried to make the purchases from the comfort of their home only to have the website crash due to too much traffic.
Although the collaboration is certainly on the pricier side for regular H&M buyers, it's made from the utmost quality, and if you didn't know better, you could be fooled into thinking you were purchasing something off mainline Balmain. Studded jackets, bejewelled velvet dresses and silk harem pants were among the pieces that went on sale today, and they've already become somewhat of collector's items, because some are already being resold on sites like eBay — for double the price. Madness!
