- Use fabric glue to attach the elastic to the 2 ends of the lace trim.
- Let the fabric glue dry completely, then your new headband is ready to wear.
Braided jersey headband
Supplies:
- Jersey knit fabric
- Plastic headband
- Scissors
- Tape
- Hot glue
Directions:
- Cut a long strip out of the jersey knit fabric (an old T-shirt can even work well for this).
- Heat up the hot glue gun, and glue 1 end of the fabric strip to 1 end of the plastic headband.
- Wrap the fabric around the plastic headband so that it is completely covered, and glue it in place to the other side of the headband.
- Cut 3 strips of fabric that are approximately 1-inch wide and twice as long as the plastic headband.
- Tape the end of the 3 strands to the table, then braid the 3 strands together.
- Glue the braid to the top of the headband, trimming away any excess.
Simple knot headband
Supplies:
- Stretchy fabric
- Scissors
- Fabric tape measure
- Sewing machine
Directions:
- Use the fabric tape measure to measure around your head in the place where you would normally wear a headband.
- Cut 2 4-inch-wide strips of fabric to that length.
- Fold the strips in half with right sides facing inward, then sew along the cut edge to form 2 tubes.
- Turn the 2 fabric tubes right side out.
- Fold the 2 fabric tubes in half, and link them together at the folds.
- Line up the ends of the fabric tubes, and sew them together to complete the headband.
