In fact, you'll see more relaxed looks on the town this summer than anything else. Once it reaches a certain temperature, light, loose-fitting clothing will become the norm, and that skin-tight denim will go by the wayside. That, in essence, is why fashionistas love the warmer months — the simple, free-flowing pieces turn into style staples, because we literally breathe easier in them.

Rather than call it "comfortable" style, let's think of it more like effortlessly chic. There are a few simple tricks to achieving this look that don't require you to break the bank. All it takes are a few choice pieces and a little wardrobe reorganizing.

Guide to comfortable style

1. A pair of joggers

A comfortable yet stylish look that's really taken hold over the last year are the fancy joggers. This pair from Anthropologie can be dressed up with strappy flat sandals, or dressed down with simple flip flops. If you really want to jazz them up, complete the look with a funky, printed tee, a colorful, light scarf and a leather jacket when it cools down at night. Throw on some bangles or big, gold hoops and you're good to go. (Anthropologie, $128)

2. A Romper

It's so easy to just throw on a romper and go, it's ridiculous. The great part about them — besides the fact that they're usually super roomy and comfy — is if you pair one with a few choice accessories, you've suddenly got a smokin' hot look. This floral romper from Macy's looks great on its own, but add a belt, and some ankle boots, and you've got a going-out ensemble. (Macy's, $118)

3. The boyfriend jean

The boyfriend jean has been around for a while now, but recently it's made a serious comeback. If you love wearing jeans, but hate when they stick to you in the summertime, they are the perfect solution. Try these rolled-up ones from Madewell with a pair of floral flats, a white T-shirt and a patterned blazer for a Saturday afternoon brunch look that will be sure to turn heads. (Madewell, $115)

5. The maxi dress

Without a doubt, my favorite part about summer is getting to feel the breeze under my maxi dress. Maxi dresses are awesome, because they hide any issues you might have with your lower body, are comfortable enough to do almost anything in and dress up and down easily. You could throw some silver or white heels on along with a chunky, statement necklace and wear this Maison Jules maxi to a wedding. You could also just run around the corner in bare feet and grab a soda from the deli. (Macy's, $90)

6. Long-sleeved tunic

This tunic from Free People is great, because it's long enough to wear with a pair of shorts on a warmer day, and short enough to look cute with a pair of jeans on a cooler summer night. If you really want to make the look pop, try wearing a few long necklaces, and a glamorous hair pin or headband with beads. (FreePeople.com, $98)

7. Pull-on shorts

If it's really hot, don't be afraid to go shorts, because pull-on shorts are totally in now and they're the easiest to get on and off. These patterned shorts by Ella Moss look fab with a solid-colored tank or tee and neutral flat sandals. If you throw on a light leather jacket or cropped jean jacket and some big sunglasses, you'll be ready for a day and night at the beach. (Bloomingdales, $128)

8. Kimono cardigan

Kimono-style jackets and sweaters are awesome transition into summer pieces, because they're so light you can throw them on over practically anything. This crocheted one from Kohl's is particularly cute, because it has that fringe on the bottom. The piece jazzes up an otherwise plain pair of jeans and T-shirt, while simultaneously hiding any lower-body problem areas. All in all, it's a choice piece to bring when you're heading out of town for the weekend. (Kohl's $64)
