Not everyone has the talent to create the kind of couture beauty we see on the runways, and that's what makes it so special. It's always seemed so wonderfully inaccessible... until now!
Visual artist Rolando Johnson just created a makeup tutorial for our sister site Beauty High that shows off a truly mesmerizing Harajuku-inspired makeup look. It's not easy, that's for sure: This video condenses over nine hours of detailed makeup application and four hours of prop creation (made of — get this — dollar bills, diamonds and paper) into less than two minutes.
Rolando Robinson makeup tutorial
He starts off with a pretty mesmerizing palette (his cheekbones are amazing) and explains in detail how he applies everything from white foundation to the jewels and a pretty flirty little hat. The final product is runway worthy and completely breathtaking.
It might not be something you can recreate at home, but you can fantasize about it and marvel at how a little makeup can completely transform someone into a whole new character.
And hey, it might even inspire you to play around with your own makeup a bit. Dying to try a new lipliner? Some pigment eyeshadow? Just try it, you never know what you might create.
