Weekly resurfacing exfoliant

Resurfacing Treatment by Paula’s Choice

An AHA is a chemical exfoliant, but don’t be turned off by the term "chemical." AHAs use naturally-derived chemicals like glycolic acid to soften, exfoliate and perfect your skin. If you don’t want to apply an AHA treatment every single day, there are some great weekly versions on the market. We like the Resist 10 percent AHA Weekly Resurfacing Treatment by Paula's Choice (paulaschoice.com, $30). It's gentle enough not to harm dry, aging skin and gets the job done. It's good for all skin types, too. Just apply the treatment once weekly overnight and watch as your skin glows in the morning.

Ready-to-style hair oil treatment

Don’t like the greasy feeling that comes along with oil hair treatments? Suave has you covered with their Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil, that doesn't need to be applied overnight — you can use in your everyday styling routine to moisturize, condition and provide a silky shine. Simply wash your hair as normal, towel dry and add two to three pumps into your hand and distribute along the mid-shaft and ends of your hair. Dry your hair using a hairdryer and prepare to be wowed by the shine. Pick up a bottle at Sam's Club today and give it a try. You'll be glad you did.

Deliciously minty face masque

Queen Helene Mint Julep Face Masque

This green, mint-scented mask has been a cheap staple in the supermarket beauty aisle for decades. Don’t lets its small price fool you — Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque (ulta.com, $4) packs a punch for oily, acne-prone skin. Simply apply liberally to clean skin and allow it to dry completely, then wash off. The tingly sensation will leave your skin feeling refreshed and beauty junkies swear by its acne drying effects.

Oil pulling for whiter teeth

Oil pulling is a new phenomenon where naturalistas swish coconut oil in their mouths for 10-20 minutes to "pull" toxins out of the body. We can't attest to its toxin-purifying effects (neither can science), but oil pulling is actually a great alternative to typical teeth whitening methods. Skip the baking soda, turn on your favorite show on Netflix and add a teaspoon of coconut oil into your mouth. Advocates say this process encourages healthy gums and reduces infection and bacteria, but the whitening effects are immediately noticeable.

Oil and sugar lip scrub

You can buy expensive products at Sephora that do the same thing as two staple ingredients in your kitchen cabinet. Lip scrubs are a new trend, but mixing a bit of oil in with brown or white sugar has the same effect. Simply mix sugar with enough oil to coat it, but not completely wet. (You won't need much of either.) Dip your finger in and scrub away at your lips for two minutes. When done, dab with a moist cloth to remove the sugar granules. Now your pucker is ready for the perfect lipstick without the flakes.
