Singer and actress Zendaya brought her ponytail A-game to a recent event, opting for loads of shine at the crown and a sideswept pony with hair wrapped around it. Justine Piecuch, stylist at SalonCapri, is showing us how to look just as chic as Zendaya — no glam squad required.

Get the look
"A long, sleek pony can take any look and make it polished and sophisticated. There are many statements in this look: the strong part, the slicked hair and the length. This is a great look for any hair type and especially great for second day on the run hair," Piecuch says.
- Extensions were most likely used in this look, but if you can't get your hands on any, you can still create a killer ponytail. With a boar bristle flat brush, use the heat from your dryer and tension to smooth any flyaways or kinks in the hair. Run a flat iron through to really polish off.
- Create a strong part (for the exact look here, do a side part). This can vary from the center to the outer part of your eyebrow. Spraying from the roots toward the ends and using your flat boar bristle brush, start to gather hair into a pony at the base of your neck. Once everything is smooth and clean secure with an elastic.
- Now, if using extensions, start to pin them into your own ponytail. They should already be neatly smoothed, straightened and gathered. Grab a small piece from underneath your own hair and divide it in half. Wrap 1 section around where your hair meets the extension piece. Then grab the second piece and wrap in the opposite direction. The point of this is to hide the 2 connecting pieces.
- Finish by doing a final spritz of hairspray over everything to clean up any flyaways.
