Ready for spring? While the weather isn’t quite cooperating, the days are getting longer and the sun is shining a bit brighter, giving a subtle hint that a fairer season is around the corner. Get a head start on Mother Nature by ditching the winter neutrals and adding a pop of bright color.
I will show you a simple trick for wearing a teal cat eyeliner. Simple cat eyes are a quick and easy look for a brighter, brilliant shade and they really make eyes pop. I used teal but of course, this trick can help you create cat eyes in any color you prefer. Basic black is a classic but stick to rich jewel tones like emerald green or a shimmering purple for maximum impact.
Step-by-step tutorial for perfect teal cat eyes
For this look, you will need:
- Scotch tape
- Teal eyeliner (I used TiGi Cosmetics Perfect Eyeliner in Peacock.)
Prime your tape
Cut off a small piece of tape about 1-1/2 inches long and stick it to the back of your hand. This makes the tape less adhesive so that it won’t hurt the delicate skin around your eyes.
Apply tape
Using the curve of your bottom lash line as a guide, apply the primed tape to the outer corner of your eye as shown.
Draw your first line
Draw a line up from your eye along the tape to whatever height you desire. Anywhere between 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch works well.
Remove tape
Gently peel off tape to reveal a nice, clean line.
Complete the shape
Draw your next line from the inner corner of your eye to the top of your first line and fill in the shape all the way down to your lash line.
Repeat on the other side
Follow steps 2 through 6 using a new piece of Scotch tape to create the cat eye on your other eye. If you are careful to follow the curve of your lower lash line and are consistent with the height of your first line, your liner should look even on both sides.
