Danielle Campbell, star of The Originals, showed off an original and chic way to make this trend work.
Sophisticated crop tops? Yeah, you don't usually hear those words used together. But somehow, Danielle's chic combo works. As with all things fashion, the key is moderation. Her crop top hits right above the navel and when paired with a high-waisted pencil skirt, only a slight bit of midriff is showing. Snake skin nude pumps, jewel-toned earrings and shiny waves added just the right finishing touches to Danielle's ensemble.
The final verdict? Before you go crazy for crop tops and start planning out your new work wardrobe, let me offer a piece of advice: Midriff is never appropriate in the boardroom. This is, however, a fun way to make the often risque look a bit more sophisticated for special events or date night.

And she does it again. Kiernan Shipka proved one more time that she's a fashion force to be reckoned with, this time at a promotional event for her hit show Mad Men. The 15-year-old brought serious spring attitude with her in this strapless floral print sheath dress.
With spring officially here and cold weather still plaguing much of the nation, Kiernan's cheery dress is a welcome treat. Florals are always a hot spring trend, but they can come off a bit gaudy if the print isn't just right. Luckily, Kiernan tapped into her fashion know-how and selected a print that toes the line between bold and demure quite nicely. Kiernan added another hot spring trend (metallics) into the mix with some strappy sandals and finished her look off with a toned down beauty look.
The final verdict? Words can't describe how much I love this girl's style. She consistently brings her fashion A-game and always knows how to dress appropriately for an event. I can't wait to see what she wears next.
