American Hustle star Amy Adams always keeps it classy on the red carpet. In addition to her award-worthy acting chops (which got her nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role this year), the redheaded beauty has demonstrated time and time again that she has a great eye for style, too.
At the 2014 Academy Awards, she flaunted her enviable figure in a body-hugging, navy strapless peplum gown by Gucci Couture.
While the dress was relatively simple, Adams amped things up a notch with a pair of bold statement Tiffany earrings, which she confessed to E!'s Ryan Seacrest that she just loves.
Believe it or not, the dress was her first choice, too. "We tried on a couple dresses, and I put this on and it just felt… it felt like me, you know," she told him. "I felt like I was one with the dress and uh, yeah… that doesn't always happen so it's nice when it does." Uh, we couldn't agree more.
Apparently, Adams has long valued comfort when it comes to awards show fashion, though. In a 2012 interview with InStyle, she said the first thing she thinks is not, "'What does this look like,' it's always 'What does it feel like.' I'm a very tactile person. Sometimes I'll love something and we'll take a picture, and then I'll look and go, 'Oh, that does not look good but it feels good.'" Luckily, she seems to choose dresses that fit both the comfort and eye-catching criteria.
As for Adams' hair, updos are definitely her thing. Her fresh, contemporary French twist for the Oscars is perfectly smoothed out and simple, yet classic, points out Jasmine, a hairstylist at the Oscar Blandi Salon in New York City. "A deep side part with a '20s inspired wave on the side is connected into the back of the twist. This move definitely softens up her updo and screams perfection just like her gorgeous gown." Love, love, love!
